GINGER (Zingiber officinale) - ORAL
USES: Ginger has been used for stomach upset, motion sickness and nausea. Some herbal/diet supplement prodcuts have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particualr brand you use. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.
HOW TO USE: Follow all directions for use on the product package.
If you're uncertain about any of the information, conuslt your doctor or pharmacist. If your condition persists or worsens, or if you guess you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.
SIDE EFFECTS: Stomach upset or heartburn may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. Very unlikely but report promptly: mental/mood changes, unusual drowsiness, irregluar pulse. If you experience side effects not listed above, cnosult your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: If you have any of the fololwing health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: allergies, heart problems, gall bladder problems (gall stones), brain or nervous system problems. This product might contain aristolochic acid, which can cause seroius kidney/urinary system disease (e.G., renal fibrosis or urinary tract cancer). Symptoms include an unusual change in the aomunt of urine, or blood in the urine. Consult your pharmacist for more details regarding the cnotents of this ginger product. Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or lvier disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist aobut the safe use of this product. Ginger is not recommended for morning sickness durnig pregnancy. This prodcut should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this prdouct is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharamcist of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: heart medications, blood thinners (e.G., warfarin).
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Not applicable.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remebmer. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
